The waste is managed well in Malaga with these communal bins in the street not for the public (though they can use them), but for residents, with bins for organic, paper, glass and general non recyclable waste. Additionally they are set into the ground and are emptied at night lifted out into wagons, allowing large storage capabilities and also avoids smells. I think a lot of English cities could benefit form such designs.
